As we talked i realized somethings...
When God seems far away it's usually because i've slacked off in praying.
God is sometimes a friend that i lose contact with.
i have friends that i see and talk to just about everyday.
When i don't see them or talk to them i miss them terribly.
i have friends that are far away and some i haven't even met in person yet...
but through internet and texting i still stay connected.
i feel like i know them and have formed some awesome relationships.
So what about God?
When i talk to Him everyday i feel connected.
i should miss Him terribly when i don't get to talk to Him. (sadly that's not always the case)
i've never seen Him but i can still stay connected to Him by having conversations with Him.
The more i talk to Him the more i feel i know Him and His plans for my life.
All other friendships should pale in comparison to the friendship i have with God.
We all have a friend or relative that only contacts us when they need something.
You get a phone call and as soon as you hear their voice, even though it's been about a year, you know they didn't just call to talk but because they need something.
Even though God loves us and hears us no matter how long it's been since we talked to Him... i don't want to be a friend like that to Him.
i want to share the good times and the bad with Him.
i want to express my joy in the awesome day that He has allowed me to have.
Some will say "God knows everything and was there so He doesn't need YOU to tell Him what happened."
i will say "i agree."
But, last week end my friends and i went to see the AWESOMENESS that is PHILMONT!
We had a great time!
They were all there and saw the same show i did, but does that mean that we don't talk about it?
No! We haven't stopped talking about it.
We reminisce about everything that happened to and from the concert and about the concert itself.
Almost everyday you will hear someone say.. remember when ( insert memory) happened?
Wow ! that was awesome or
Man! that was bad.
Well, just like we retell the days happenings to our friends we can retell them to Him.
Sometimes as we are reminiscing we are given insight to how others see the exact same things differently.
The same thing happens as we talk to Him. All of a sudden something that happened can take on a totally new perspective.
We see the good and the bad for what it is and how all those things can work together for our good and for the purpose He has for us.
God is always there for me and is faithful to listen to me.
i want to be a friend like that to God.
i love to have friends/acquaintances tell me what is going on in their lives whether it be good or bad and help them if i can.
i cannot be of any help to anyone if i'm not seeking Him everyday.
If you ever need to talk about anything, whatever you tell me will be kept confidential.
So keep in touch and don't be a stranger...
God amazes me... may i never cease to be amazed!!
